Beyond Logistics works beyond contract specifications to ensure successful project execution.

It all started with a problem.

  • Vaccine storage in Uganda’s health centres was lacking, leading to massive vaccine spoilage in many health facilities.
  • The result was low immunization coverage across the country.

To solve the problem:

  • The country needed 996 cold chain equipment in 135 health centres to improve vaccine storage and overall immunization coverage.
  • The contract to supply and install the cold chain equipment was awarded to a Chinese company, Haier Biomedical Company Ltd, in partnership with Beyond Logistics Limited (BLL) as the Local Service Provider.
  • BLL successfully received, transported and stored the cold chain equipment from China.
  • As the in-country logistics partner, BLL successfully distributed and delivered all the fragile cold chain equipment to designated health facilities, including hard to reach areas in Kalangala and Buvuma Islands, without a single loss or damage.
  • At each health facility, BLL’s professional team handled all the installation work to ensure high quality installations.
  • Different teams commissioned the cold chain equipment at all the health facilities.
  • For the next three years, BLL provided technical support and aftersales services to all health facilities after commissioning to ensure project maximisation.
  • BLL trained and engaged key stakeholders around the country to achieve smooth project management and execution.

The results:

  • Timely progress reports to stakeholders enabled smooth project management and execution.

Our contract to distribute 996 cold chain fridges in 135 districts improved vaccine storage in the service areas and resulted in better immunisation coverage countrywide.
